Valentine's Day Is Coming! Valentines's Day Is Coming!!

I'm the little Red Cardinal Bird of Love (yes, I know the brilliant red cardinal is the male, and I'm female, just go with it this time, OK?!?)... where was I.  Oh, yes, I'm the little Red Cardinal Bird of Love here to tell you that Valentine's Day is going to be here in 3 days.  So are you ready?  Do you have a little somethin' somethin' to give to your special person/people?  Valentine's day is the easiest gift shopping holiday ever, in my book.  I mean how much easier can it get than buying massive amounts of candy and chocolate for the people that you love?!  Of course, now they (there's that ambiguous "THEY" again) have all kinds of other things too.  A person can now find things for the ever present party pooper, wet blanket and self loathing dark individual as well...

But being the romantic that I am, I'm not going to dwell in that dark corner any longer - yeesh!  Give me fun and fuzzy any day of the week!  For instance, I love these cute valentines pillowcases...
 

And now we come full circle to the best original gift of Valentine's Day...
CHOCOLATE

What?  Too much chocolate for you?  Wimp!  Now get busy wrapping up some lovin' for your Lovey!!

Confession I (that's roman numeral for 'one')

                   I have a pet peeve.  Okay, I have a lot of pet peeves.  So I have a whole herd of pet peeves.  My pet peeves are so numerous and out of control that I have to keep razor wire around them.  Once in a great while the little critters will break out and it takes days to gather them back up and become socially acceptable again. 

"They" say (you know the great ominous THEY everyone always refers to, that's the one I'm referring to here as well) if you take each of your pet peeves and get to know it, you can become friends with it and make peace.  Then, supposedly, you will then be able to let it go free and it will not return to haunt you ever again.  Hmmm, where do I start?  I guess I'll just close my eyes and yank a couple out randomly...

Not just any hair, that hair!  GROSS!  I'm positive this is why some beautiful genius invented shower gel in a bottle, for the disgusting people out there that don't know how to use a lathered up washcloth!  At least with shower gel we no longer have to lather our own washcloths with someone else's DNA.

Unfortunately, that's all we have time for today because the rest of the little buggers are just too wound up wanting to be next.  Don't worry, I'll pull out a couple more when they all get settled down again!

It's VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!

I love Valentine's Day!  I always have... 

When I was little, it was so much fun to get the tiny valentine's gift and candy hearts that my parents traditionally gave.  I loved to eat just one tiny heart every now and then in order to eek it out as long as I could - NOT unlike Charlie in the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory .  But very much UNlike Charlie, I had to guard mine from siblings who had eaten their box of candy hearts immediately upon arrival and who were now lurking around my room in attempt to spy out my candy hiding place.  They usually gave up around the six month mark of their steak out.

 Valentine's day was filled with overwhelming potential when I was a hormonal adolescent.  Even though I never had a boyfriend on that specific holiday during that stage of my life-- that's why I said "filled with overwhelming POTENTIAL".

Okay, moving on.  Fast forwarding past several different lifetimes, personas, internal/external failures/successes and parachute pants, we come to current day... I still love it.  Actually I love it even more!  I have a husband (the same one) and kids to share it with now.  Sure, it helps that my kids are precious, sweet, kind, loving, caring and down right strikingly beautiful children.  And that my husband, after the many years we've been together, continues to age to perfection, is majorly fun-loving, has the muscular build most men only dream of, a smooth deep voice and looks good in stubble. 

It's a hard life, ladies, but somebody has to live it.
